AFK'ing at Nine Rings, how long before they kick me? - Guild Wars Forums

Hey all,

Got a question. I'm AFK'ing at Nine Rings on Noob Island. The event ends at 12pm PST. About how many hours after that time will it be before I get disconnected?

I regularly get disconnected every year at the 23h (not 24) hour mark of afking.

when the event ends you will find yourself with all the other afk'ers standing no longer in the boardwalk.....(I got kicked early this morning due to that silly update).

hmmm,not sure on some events there appears a message: The festival decorations will be gone in 30,20 etc mins,not sure about this 1...

Not before I get my lucky pts! Stupid Anet's servers DC'ed me yesterday for no reason while I was away. This was way early into my 24-hour cycle!

I only dc when they decide to do an update, or when my net laggs or something.. I was able to go ~3 days straight without a single dc, was pretty proud of that^^

Only thing that pissed me off was that at the start of the event, I got kicked off due to the like 5th build they launched, but I was away. It pissed me off because I lost those Lucky points due to their incompetence to launch a build at once. But all in all it's not that bad, I only lost ~20h due to dc's when not at home.

so,bright star how many lucky and unlucky pts did you get this event? it was an 8 day event,so if we presume you lost 24h due to dc that is 7 days,curious to see how many pts one would get in a week?

Contrary to common belief, there is no timer that kicks you out at regular intervals when you AFK for long periods of time.
There a great number of factors that can contribute (large amounts of lag, a spike in your internet connection, etc.) to you getting disconnected, but you can essentially stay AFK forever.

If however, you mean "when will the event end?" It just did and it kicks people off rings the moment it ends.

its one of the few things that does go on schedule (and yes I got a 007 code yesterday long before I made it to 20+ hours...though that dang update might have had something to do with it).

24 stacks of tokens I can't trade because NPC's are gone

Why did they remonve them immediatly instead to keep them a few more time like every others years ?
